The Map Pilot app helps you create and fly the optimal flight path to create great maps using the Maps Made Easy map processing service. Creating high resolution aerial maps with your DJI flying camera is just a few clicks away. Mapping has never been easier.
Define the area, select the level of detail, and go.
Use Map Pilot to calculate areas and estimate how many batteries are needed to do the job. This 215 acre layout will require two batteries.
Same 215 acre layout from the previous slide will require 4 batteries but will collect data at a much higher ground resolution.
Save basemap images while you have an internet connection so you can use them when you don't.
Built-in user reference to remind you what all the little icons mean.
Landing crosshairs provide natural landing assistance. Forward is forward and left is left. You know, so you don't hit stuff.
Recall previously saved missions or delete ones you no longer plan on using.
Simple and easy to understand interface. Flexible enough for pros. Simple enough for grandma.
Pick up where you last battery left off with smart battery management for multi flight mapping.
All the controls you need, none of the ones you don't. If you don't know what it means, don't touch it.
Map Pilot for iOS 8/9/10 and the Phantom 4, Phantom 3, the Inspire 1 or the Matrice 100 will allow users to create customizable flight plans to collect aerial imagery that will work perfectly with our Maps Made Easy map processing service.
Update January 2, 2017: Version 2.4.0 is available and brings a lot of new features.
There are two phases to using this app to collect proper data: Planning and Flight. For a full, step by step walkthrough check out our support page.
After flight, the images are manually retrieved from the camera's SD card and can be uploaded to the Maps Made Easy service for processing.
Coming Soon The upcoming features we have planned will make the mapping processing even more automated and able to be done fully offline.
Direct Data Upload to Maps Made Easy
Are you planning on releasing an Android app?
No, not at this point.
Will it work with my drone?
Yes! Thanks to DJI's latest firmware release, there is now publicly available support for waypoint flying. If you have a Phantom 4, Phantom 3 Advanced, Phantom 3 Professional, Phantom 4 (Pro), Mavic Pro, Inspire 1 or Matrice 100 all you need to do is get the app and start flying.
How do I get the app?
It is now available on the Apple AppStore.
Do I have to use Maps Made Easy to process the imagery?
Nope! Of course we think Maps Made Easy is the way to go, but you can certain take the images off the SD card and use your choice of processing software.
For the beta test, we do require that you have a Maps Made Easy account and would appreciate testers posting their images for processing so we can see how things are working. All Maps Made Easy jobs that are 104 images or less (as taken with our app) are free to process.
What can I make with this app?
This app combined with Maps Made Easy will allow you to make up-to-date high resolution maps with just a few taps of your finger.
